Your business has assets. Your people are the most valuable.

You insure your premises, your equipment, and your vehicles—but have you insured the most critical assets of your business: its people?

The death or critical illness of a key employee, director, or shareholder can throw a business into chaos. Without capital, loans may be called in, profits drop, and surviving shareholders may be forced into business with the deceased's spouse. We implement robust corporate protection strategies to ensure your business survives.

What We Cover

Key Person Insurance to inject cash into the business if a crucial employee falls seriously ill or dies.

Shareholder Protection to provide surviving owners the funds needed to buy out a deceased partner's equity.

Relevant Life Policies providing highly tax-efficient life cover for directors paid for by the company.

Executive Income Protection and group schemes to attract and retain top talent.

How the Business Resilience Analyser works

What does the Business Resilience Analyser assess?

It reviews the key people, cover amounts, shareholders and succession information entered. It groups the result into key-person protection, shareholder protection and information-completeness indicators.

How is the business resilience score calculated?

The score applies configurable planning weights to the information entered, including life cover relative to salary, critical illness or income protection cover, shareholder protection and succession arrangements. It is an illustrative screening score, not an actuarial assessment.

Does a high score mean the business is fully protected?

No. The analyser cannot assess policy definitions, ownership, trusts, insurer terms, tax treatment, business valuation or suitability. Those points require a full review by a qualified adviser and, where appropriate, legal or tax professionals.

How It Works

Our Process

1

Initial Free Consultation

We assess your business structure, key personnel, shareholder arrangements, and financial position to understand the full operational and financial risk posed by losing a key person, director, or shareholder.

2

Stress Testing

We model the financial impact of losing a key individual through death or critical illness — factoring in outstanding loan obligations, the drop in profitability, and the consequences of shares passing to an unintended party.

3

Identify Gaps & Recommendations

We identify gaps in your corporate protection — whether key person insurance, shareholder protection, Relevant Life policies, or executive income protection — and recommend a structured strategy to safeguard your business.

4

Market Research & Sourcing

We source the most competitive and comprehensive corporate protection policies from across the whole market, using the most tax-efficient structures available to minimise the cost to your business.

5

Implement & Ongoing Reviews

We implement policies alongside any necessary legal structures — including cross-option agreements — and provide an annual review to keep cover aligned to current business valuations, payroll, and changes in ownership.

Common Questions

What clients ask us

What is Key Person Insurance?

It is a life or critical illness policy taken out by a business on the life of an employee whose knowledge, work, or overall contribution is considered uniquely valuable to the company's profitability.

What happens to shares if a business partner dies without protection?

Typically, their shares pass to their estate (often their spouse). The surviving business owners might not have the cash to buy the spouse out, leading to external parties gaining control of the business.

Are Relevant Life Policies tax-deductible?

Yes, generally the premiums are considered a legitimate business expense and are corporation tax-deductible, while also not being treated as a benefit-in-kind for the director.

Protect what you've built.

A single consultation could identify a protection gap that, left uncovered, could end your business. It costs nothing to find out where you stand.

Protection: Protection plans are subject to terms and conditions. The availability and cost of cover depend on individual circumstances.
